Position Summary

The Senior Registration Specialist provides analysis, advice, and expertise in North American registrations with EPA and FDA under FIFRA and FFDCA requirements in the US and with Health Canada under PCP, DIN and NHP requirements. Identifies and initiates opportunities to cooperate with regulatory agencies to realize and/or enhance corporate objectives/improvements and to bolster the credibility of the U S Chemical (USC) business in the regulatory community. Manages product registration for biocidal and similar products in the US and Canada and provides strategic direction and leadership to other internal business partners to ensure that activities and programs meet all applicable regulatory requirements and support the company’s strategic and operational initiatives.  These activities have a high technical complexity and impact/priority for the company. 

Job Description

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepares data and documents required by government, third party and other authoritative bodies to support product registration activities predominantly with EPA and Health Canada
  • Provides commercialization support for new and amended registered products to minimize time to market and ensure continued compliance on the market.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and strives to become recognized within the business, and leveraged as an internal subject matter expert in the area of antimicrobial pesticide registration.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to evaluate and minimize risk and drive compliance of existing products lines, changes and innovation projects in support of departmental and regional objectives.
  • Maintains and continuously expands knowledge of relevant regulation, monitors proposed changes in regulations, identifies potential impact on the company and suggests actions to minimize risk and ensure timely compliance. Actively follows and participates in relevant industry trade associations
  • Support other areas of compliance to ensure USC products, subject to a variety of federal and state labeling, hazard communication, reporting and/or registration requirements dictated by OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, CPSC, Health Canada, DOT and other agencies, are in full compliance with the regulatory requirements.
  • Coaches and mentors other technical staff.

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology or related field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in a corporate regulatory environment with proven track record of responsibility for product registration and compliance with antimicrobial pesticides, medical devices, OTC drugs, food contact sanitizers, and similar regulated materials.
  • In-depth knowledge of FIFRA and corresponding Canadian regulations (TPD/DIN, NHP, PMRA/PCP, CCCR)
  • 3+ years of experience with MS Office and Google programs. Demonstrated ability to create, manage and analyze data using spreadsheets.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of health, safety, packaging, labeling and transportation regulations that apply to chemicals and formulated products in the Professional, Industrial and Consumer setting in the US and Canada.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and programs such as FDA, USDA, FSMA and HACCP.
  • Experience with registration requirements of third party organization such as Kosher and NSF.
  • Knowledge of international regulations governing product registration and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to set realistic goals and timetables to execute those goals.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to read, analyze, and summarize complex regulatory documents and communicate impacts and actions to internal stakeholders within the company.
